“A space where movement and gesture together transcend the world of communication and become a game.”

In this way, author and performer Viktor Černický describes his new performance PRIMA, in which he asks how we can meet another person through art. His inspiration is the Dutch Golden Age, which speaks of images abounding in human energy and play. The open rehearsal within the TANEC PRAHA Festival is the first time the production that will premiere next year will be shared publicly.

The research period for 2019 gained support of 4 + 4 Days in Motion Festival 2019, CIRQUEON – Centre for New Circus and Invalidovna. We are creating the performance in cooperation with local communities in the Czech Republic, Spain, Italy and Romania.

Viktor Černický creates works straddling the fine line between dance, performance, circus, and physical theater. He leads a long-term research project The Body as Object / The Object as Body, which looks at the dynamics of relationships between an object and subjective individuality of the performer. Alongside his own work, he has also collaborated and performed with Jaro Viňarský, Dominique Boivin, Daniel Gulko and Compagnie Mossoux-Bonté, among others. Since 2019 he has been also a host pedagogue at DAMU in Prague in an international project Ma DOT.

Viktor‘s first solo performance PAROLAPOLEA earned him nominations in categories Dancer of the Year and Dance Performace of the Year at the 2017 Czech Dance Platform, and was presented with a special award in the form of participation at the Choreographic Research Week at the B-Motion Festival in Bassano del Grappa.
His solo piece PLI received the Audience Award and Total Award of Czech Dance Platform 2019. With this performance Viktor has become a part of Aerowaves Twenty20 selection.
